What is Prop. 115?

Prop. 115 is a consensus measure that creates more transparency and accountability in the way judges are selected in Arizona.  Prop. 115 improves judicial selection by:

  • Ensuring more qualified men and women are considered for judicial vacancies.
  • Giving voters more information about the judges they see on the ballot.
  • Reducing the influence of powerful insiders and special interests.
  • Allowing judges to serve with excellence beyond the age of 70.

Prop. 115 is supported by the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Judicial Council, the Arizona Judges Association, strong bi-partisan majorities in the Arizona Legislature, and Governor Brewer.  The full text of Prop. 115 is available here.
